teen-depression-croppedDid you know that a deficiency in vitamin B may cause your teen to be depressed?  Findings show that one out of every eight adolescents has teen depression.  This is most likely caused by a diet lacking lean meat, green leafy vegetables, organic eggs and foods rich in vitamin B.  Most Americans eat a diet that consists of processed foods and fast foods that contain chemicals that deplete vitamin B in the body.

Vitamin B is essential to mental and emotional well-being.  The first sign of a deficiency in vitamin B in teens usually is mental.  The effects start out as depression and can lead to nervousness, anxiety, irritability, heart disease and mental fatigue.

If we don’t start making our teens eat a healthier diet and address this problem, we will continue having these serious health issues like diabetes, heart disease and emotional problems.  We need to stop feeding our teens nonfoods, fast food, processed foods, excess carbohydrates and sugar.  Our youth need whole foods, protein, good fats like coconut oil and nuts, and natural carbohydrates such as fruits and vegetables.

One way to make sure our teens are getting the vitamin B they need is to give them Cataplex B by Standard Process.  All youth need a whole food vitamin B supplement.  You cannot use store-bought B vitamins that are fractions of the whole B-vitamin complex.  Help them get the adequate amount of vitamin B with Cataplex B.  Use 2-3 tablets daily for kids ages 5-12, 4-6 tablets daily for kids ages 12-15, and 6-9 tablets daily for older kids and those experiencing emotional disorders.
