Need Help with your Unbelief?

Need Help with your Unbelief?

Where are you lacking belief?  Is it in a better future for yourself, a close relation or your country?  Have you abandoned a notion that things could be different?  Is disappointment keeping you from believing again?   Do you periodically have feelings of worthlessness causing you not to believe in yourself?  Is fear keeping you from believing in a different outcome?  Read on to find some help to BELIEVE again.

Have you ever watched a child play make believe?  A child can go anywhere they want with that game.  They can be anything they want to be and live anywhere they want to live and achieve anything they want to achieve.  As adults, we have many telling us what we can’t do or be anymore.  It can cause dismay and feelings of being unfulfilled and discouraged.  Isn’t it interesting how children focus on their future and what they would like to be?  Meanwhile, adults are reminding themselves of their past.  No wonder they lose the ability to believe.  If you have children, I hope you are encouraging their positive focus on the future instead of reminding them of your past.  Do them a favor by not continuing the cycle by discouragement.

This reminds me of Dr. Ben Carson and his amazing achievements.  He did not come from any kind of privileged background.  He grew up in an inner city.  He was raised by his single mom with his brother. She worked as a maid, but had the courage to believe her children could achieve great things.  She noticed that the people she worked for had a lot of books on their shelves and she had the wisdom to know reading was powerful.  She mandated that her sons read books everyday after school despite what they would have preferred to do.  Not only that, she required them to write book reports so she could check their homework.  Want to know the best part?  She could not read!

Reading afforded Dr. Carson the opportunity to play make believe every day.  Travel to places every day.  And learn things every day all through the power of make believe and imagining he was in those stories he read.  And if you don’t know who he is, I suspect by now you figured out he achieved greatness and became a doctor.  Not only that, he is known as a world renowned neurosurgeon and achieved amazing feats in his field.  Find his books online to learn more.

So what if you just needed a little help with your unbelief?   A boost over the emotional hurts or blocks holding you back.  What if the power to BELIEVE could be bottled?   Guess what, it has been!

Believe™ Essential Oil by Young Living contains Idaho Blue Spruce, Idaho Balsam Fir, Frankincense, and other essential oils that may encourage feelings of strength and faith when used aromatically.

Goals vs. Resolutions

Goal Setting vs. New Year’s Resolutions

I’m not a fan of setting New Year's’ Resolutions.  I believe it is better to set goals, SMART Goals, goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable/Accountable, Realistic, Time (linked to time).

I am also not a fan of setting huge, outrageous, unrealistic, unattainable goals. Don’t get me wrong, you should stretch yourself but, don’t set yourself up for failure. Transition your habit of over-promising what you’ll accomplish in the New Year to developing well thought out SMART Goals.  I am not talking about creating a list of things to do or accomplish. I am talking about solid, well thought out, do-able SMART Goals. Invest some time on this.  Invest a lot of time on it! The more time and energy you put into your SMART Goals, the more specific you are, the more you’ll accomplish.

Once you have your SMART Goals written out you have to put them in motion by developing a step by step plan to guide your actions and support your effort.  You do this by creating a personalized action plan. Your personalized action plan should include: 1)  action steps, 2) tracking and 3) accountability.

I came to the realization that my life in 10 years would not be any different than my life today if I didn’t start consciously making decisions that would enable me to get where I want to go. I realized I needed a system in place to assist me in developing my SMART goals and keeping them in the forefront of my mind so that I could accomplish them. I do this by living the OolaLife - That state of awesomeness when your life is balanced and growing in the seven key areas of life; the 7 F's of Oola (fitness, finance, family, field, faith, friends, and fun.)

There are three simple steps to the OolaLife: The Wheel, The Plan, The Path.

The OolaLife is a simple, but not easy, system created by The OolaGuys, Dr. Dave Braun (OolaSeeker) and Dr. Troy Amdahl (OolaGuru). The OolaGuys are co-authors of the International Best Selling book Oola: Find Balance in an Unbalanced World. Dr. Dave and Dr. Troy are renowned experts in a proper work-life balance.

Invest in Yourself with Six Simple Ways to Save

Posted In:
Articles | Blog | Featured | Health News | Mind/Body | Young Living Essential Oils

Managing money can seem daunting, but it doesn’t need to be an intimidating process! Like your health and relationships, everyday choices create your long-term outcomes. Whether financial freedom is a goal or a reality, see how these small changes can lead to not-so-small savings.

1. Divide your paycheck and start saving

It’s simple economics: You have to make more money than you spend. Even though we all understand this principle, it’s sometimes easy to let our budgets get away from us.

If you struggle with balancing your budget, start by dividing each of your paychecks between your savings and checking accounts. Set a specific percentage to automatically deposit into your savings account so you’re less tempted to spend it. This will help you save without even thinking about it and make it easier to avoid temptations like midday snacks, appetizers and drinks at dinner, and late-night online shopping sprees.

Whether you set aside $5 or 10 percent, it’s just important that you start. Once you’ve made this practice a habit, it will be easier to put more and more away over time.

2. Ditch soda, alcohol, and other expensive specialty drinks

Drinking water is a no-brainer for good health, but it’s a winning financial strategy as well. Soda, juice, and especially alcohol can hike up your grocery bill and restaurant check. Instead of choosing a daily afternoon soda and drink with dinner, opt for water most days. You’ll save a good chunk of cash when you indulge only every so often or not at all.

Keep things interesting with a drop of Vitality™ essential oil. Add a splash of summery flavor with Lime Vitality, Lemon Vitality, Grapefruit Vitality, or Orange Vitality. You can also get a quick pick-me-up when you add a drop of refreshing Peppermint Vitality to your ice-cold water. You’ll be surprised how much you save when you ditch your usual splurge and stick to water instead.

3. Try eating in-outside

Eating in doesn’t mean you have to keep meals indoors. Add a little fun to homemade dinner and bring a picnic to a park, the beach, or even your backyard. You’ll make your meal a little more special without pricey entrees, unknown ingredients, and added tips. Whether the meal is simple or extravagant, you’re sure to make a memory when you host it in a fun setting—all for a fraction of the cost of a restaurant, takeout, or fast food.

4. Prioritize your health and wellness

Get enough sleep, exercise regularly, take your supplements, wash your hands—you know what it takes to stay healthy. But do you think about how these efforts can save you money? A little rest, healthy food, and exercise help prevent expensive medical bills down the road.

While there are lots of ways to give your body the attention it deserves, something as simple as a new workout, an additional healthy meal each week, or a full night’s rest can kick-start a healthier you. Check out some of our simple ways to revamp your everyday TLC.

Jump-start your workout with a 15-minute full body workout from National Gym Association member Edina Hamulic.

5. Experiment with DIY and homemade personal care

You don’t have to spend a fortune for a spa day filled with facials, body scrubs, and hair masks. Pamper yourself at home with easy-to-make DIY goodies. You’ll feel great because you took the time for extra pampering and because you saved money! Try some of the DIY ideas featured on our blog or create your own at-home beauty favorites.

Use a DIY detangler for silky soft hair.
Take a break in a steamy bath enhanced with a calming oatmeal soak.
Get your feet ready for flip-flops and strappy sandals with three steps to fab feet.
Try a fun, fizzy shower bomb or relaxing bath salts, both infused with refreshing essential oils.

6. Make a clean sweep with homemade cleaners

Making your own household cleaners is a great way to save money and keep harmful chemicals out of your home. Vinegar, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide are all great replacements for store-bought, processed cleaners, but Thieves® Household Cleaner makes it even easier to whip up affordable, naturally derived cleaners for your whole home. Infused with the power of Thieves, this cleaner makes it easy to create everything from window spray to carpet cleaner. Need some help getting started? Check out our blog post for three innovative ways to clean your whole home with Thieves Household Cleaner!

While it’s important to save and work toward financial freedom, it always helps to keep things balanced. Use these practical steps to work toward your goals and you’ll avoid feeling so restricted that your resolve breaks down and you end up filling your shopping cart, running up an expensive restaurant bill, or splurging on an expensive spa treatment. Give yourself a reasonable treat once in a while, find little ways to cut down your spending, and always keep your long-term goals in mind. It’s the small steps you take every day that will get you there!

There’s no substitute for pure, natural Young Living essential oils

There’s no substitute for pure, natural Young Living essential oils

You may have heard that essential oils can be used in the home as a natural substitute for unwanted chemicals, toxic products and synthetic ingredients. That’s all true! But what you may not know is that not all essential oils are the same, and there are definitely best practices for use.

Not all essential oils are created equally. Always be sure that you’re getting a pure, undiluted essential oil – such as those created by Young Living. Fragrance oils, for example, are NOT the same as essential oils. They may smell similar, but fragrance oils do not retain the same properties and qualities as undiluted essential oils.

In addition, most quality essential oils should come in brown or blue glass bottles. This helps retain potency and efficacy for as long as possible. Essential oils should be stored away from heat and direct sunlight to preserve their quality over the natural course of their shelf life.

Other important tips:

  • Only use the amount of an essential oil as directed for a specific purpose, or called for in a recipe. As with everything in life, moderation is key. More isn’t always better – it can sometimes cause irritation depending on your level of sensitivity.
  • Sometimes it’s necessary to dilute an essential oil in a quality carrier oil, such as Young Living’s V-6. You can learn more about how and why to use a carrier oil here.
  • If you aren’t sure how to use an essential oil, talk to a Young Living expert. We’re here to help!
  • When you’re unsure about how to whip up a cleaning recipe, home care recipe or other product you can make yourself with essential oils, consider using one of our custom Young Living home care, wellness and other products.

Draw the perfect bath with Young Living

Posted In:
Blog | Health News | Mind/Body | Young Living Essential Oils

We all look forward to a bath. It’s a rare treat to break up our morning, day or evening, and enjoy the relaxation of a good soak. And no one does baths better than Young Living.

Start your bath with our Lavender Bath & Shower Gel. Typically, it is wonderful to pour it directly into the water to create a luxurious bubble bath. However, you can also put a quarter-sized amount of soap on your bath sponge and lather.

Next, consider using one of the Young Living Diffusers to emit you favorite essential oils for aromatherapy during your bath.

Or, you can use the Bath & Shower Gel Base with five to 15 drops of your favorite essential oil per eight ounces of the Bath & Shower Gel Base. Use a little creativity as you combine the fragrances. Mix and match different combinations to experience different aromas. And if you’re looking for a particular fragrant experience, combine aromatherapy and the gel.

If you’re a bar soap bather, try Thieves Bar Soap. This cleanser uses an essential oil blend, moisturizing plant oils and botanical extracts to give your skin new life. It can help you feel purified and enlivened.

If feel like throwing your head back, closing your eyes and letting your cares disappear, use the Progressence Plus Serum on the back of your neck. (Be sure to read the How to Use section before use). Just two to four drops of this serum, designed specifically for women, can provide you with a feeling of harmony for the duration of your bath.

Next time you need some extra relation for your bath, consider incorporating Young Living.

‘Happiness Project’ at home

Did you know that taking just a whiff of your favorite smells can reduce stress, remind you of great people, places and fun, and increase your happiness?

Young Living

Recently, we read this post from best selling Happiness Project author Gretchen Rubin about how you can minister to your spirit and sense of well-being by taking simple steps to care for yourself. One of her “favorite happiness habits” is to find new, good smells and indulge in them whenever she needs a pick-me-up.

What a great idea! Sounds like Rubin is actually indulging in a quick and effective form of aromatherapy. You can take a page out of her book and do this, too. Your favorite scents will remind you of good times with loved ones, and just take you out of the ordinary daily grind.

Here are some fast and easy ways to indulge with these simple tips on how to use Young Living essential oils for aromatherapy.

1) Try adding your favorite essential oil single to a candle. This is a really easy way to set a mood for entertaining guests, or just a relaxing evening for yourself. Just light an unscented candle and add a few drops of the essential oil to the melted wax.

2) Mix up a refreshing room spray. That way, when you come home you can refresh stale air, or even mask a less-than-fresh odor (without extra cleaning). Orange is especially good for this, and many people find it invigorating. Here’s an easy recipe you can use:

  • 10 Drops Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 5 Drops Young Living Lemon Essential Oil
  • 5 Drops Young Living Orange Essential Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Orange Flower Water

Combine all ingredients with enough water to make up about one-half cup, and store in a pump bottle. Just shake and spray!

3) Add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil to your bath. Nothing beats a hot, relaxing soak in the tub to defuse tension – except a long soak scented with your favorite essential oils!

Bonus tip: Did you know that Young Living makes it incredibly easy to add the soothing benefits of essential oil aromatherapy to your day any time? Contact me for additional ideas, or visit the website. I recommend that you use our diffuser for an easy mood lifter!

Everyday Oils Collection

Are you the Everyday Oils Collection from Young Living? These oils offer the perfect support for daily life. They can help with stress relief, immune support and even give your skin a healthy glow! Below are some surprising facts about these not-so-ordinary oils. You may be surprised!

Young Living has compiled a comprehensive collection of essential oils for your everyday activities, which is designed to provide ongoing support for your home, health, and body. The collection has the perfect balance of singles and blends.

The singles include: Frankincense, Lemon, Lavender, Melaleuca Alternifoilia and Peppermint. The blends include: Joy, Purification, PanAway, Theives and Stress Away.

Five Suprises

So these oils may be for the “everyday” routine, but there’s nothing mundane about them. Here are five surprises about the oils in this collection.

1. Frankincense is considered the holy anointing oil in the Middle East, where it has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years.

2. When using Peppermint or Thieves as a supplement, you should dilute one drop into four ounces of liquid. You can put them into a liquid like goat’s milk or rice milk. It’s a surprising but refreshing mix.

3. Stress Away is the first product to contain the stress-relieving combination of lime and vanilla pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils. With the addition of copaiba, lavender and other ingredients, the unique blend can help induce relaxation.

4. Melaleuca Alternifolia is also commonly known as tea tree oil.

5. PanAway was created by Gary Young following a severe injury to the ligaments in his leg. The oil blend can be used to soothe the skin after exercise.
