(When it comes to COVID-19) the world needs the powerful healing BodyTalk can uniquely provide in the safe and effective format of distance treatments. But a lot of people - family, friends, and clients - may be having a hard time believing in this, and aren't open. This doubt is understandable  - we've grown up in the Western healthcare paradigm where distance healing sounds like it's from a magical realm. I'm passionate about sharing my perspectives as a Ph.D. scientist, mind-body medicine instructor and practitioner to help open doors for all of us to share the distance healing potential of the BodyTalk systems with everyone who needs them right here goes!

Together, we are facing a global Covid -19 pandemic that is disrupting every aspect of our lives. While we stay inside as much as possible, we still need groceries and supplies as do our animals. Some of us still need to go to work and interface with the public. No matter where or how you are hunkering down, we all need support - for our immune resilience, to manage our stress and emotional responses to the daily upheavals, and for some of us, to resolve the infection of this deadly virus itself. People need effective, safe healthcare NOW and why not brilliant treatments at a distance?

The mind-body angle

In mind-body medicine, we honor the impact of our beliefs, mindsets, stresses and emotions on our physical health...mountains of research support this connection! We know from the latest science, that our immune function is the most impacted system by stress and emotional swings.

Chronically stressed? Angry? Fearful? Feeling threatened by financial and work uncertainty? Unsure what is safe to do?

Feeling alone and isolated in this lockdown era?

  • A sense of alienation and lack of connection has been shown to be the worst type of insult for the immune system - triggering reprogramming of the genes in the immune cells to both increase inflammation and debilitate your ability to fight off an infection.

The simple act of connection with someone by any medium shifts us into a productive stress response (as compared to a fight or flight stress response) and restores our immune function.  Mindset Intervention research studies have shown this is a FAST and lasting response that occurs within 10-15 minutes of a simple reframing intervention - people's minds, emotional states and biology shift, clearing all the adversity of chronic stress including strain on the cardiovascular system and reversing the immune system debilitation.

And this is what mind-body practitioners do...simple emotional and stress releases that we can coach people to do live or remotely with equal effectiveness. And when we don't feel threatened and have a sense of support, we naturally relax, sleep better, heal and our immune cells re-engage with their jobs resolving true threats!

The stress angle

How could mind-body medicine work in the first place, let alone make a difference when done at a distance? Your autonomic (think automatic functions digestion, heart rate, breathing) nervous system has two modes - a gas pedal and a brake. Like your car, you can't simultaneously drive it in both modes. You either have the gas pedal on and are in sympathetic (aka stress) mode, OR, you have the brakes on and are in relaxation (parasympathetic) mode. Science tells us that 100% of healing and rejuvenation happens in relaxation mode (so let's do the math here: 0% of healing happens when we're stressed!). So anything that gets you to relaxation mode boosts the body's natural ability to heal - anything! If you work with the BodyTalk systems, we use simple techniques that balance the brain and work through acupuncture points to calm mind and body. These straightforward techniques can be taught remotely so anyone can touch the points and brain areas on themselves and get the powerful relaxation reset, which jump starts healing.

Let's get more esoteric

As practitioners, we train our focus. We observe and focus on the priorities within mind and body - liver detox, Qi flow in the Spleen meridian, anti-viral activity in Killer T cells, calming stress from a challenging relationship. Initially, it's easiest for most of us to do muscle testing and have the level of focus required to get great results with a client lying on a treatment table right in front of us. But, over time, the ability to get the intuitive information and focus on the client's priorities is beyond space and time. We are accessing a blueprint of the individual in a more optimal state of health, an alternative quantum probability for their energy systems that is in better harmony and balance. And we can access and observe that blueprint from anywhere. The observer effect in quantum physics doesn't require a proximity of observation.

Some things are just empirical

Although I started out as a scientist skeptic, I now know distance healing works, because I have personally experienced it myself many times (it's awesome!), and have observed that my family, friends and clients see real changes of physical, emotional and spiritual health with distance treatments.

The practical aspect of distance healing is sorely needed TODAY, not tomorrow!

The private sector and government have done an amazing job of collaborating and providing a game-plan to assist our country.  Having experience in corporate healthcare for nearly 30 years, and knowing just how difficult getting all the players on the same page can be, it is truly a magnificent display of teamwork.  Hearing and seeing what large companies such as Walmart, Google, CVS, Labcorp and others are accomplishing in record time is what makes our country’s contribution to society great. Fear and Stress = Compromised Immune System

Our focus should be on being thankful for so many bright and brilliant people that are working long hours to protect us all.  Having said this, know that fear can be paralyzing. When we're in fear mode, we're in fight/flight mode. And when we're stressed, we're also in fight/flight mode. So fear & stress are basically the same things having the same effect on the body.  Fight or flight is when our stress hormones go on high alert. The challenge is, high alert was meant to be for a temporary time to get us out of danger. (You know, running from the tiger to avoid death by tiger eating.)

Unfortunately in our world today, stress hormones stay on high alert all day long for things like work deadlines, traffic, family schedules, etc. making it difficult to sleep, stay calm and spend time relaxing. None of these mean you will die from being eaten by a tiger if you do not meet the deadline or goal however, our body no longer understands this and dumps all stress into the same bucket.   When we're stressed, we're actually scared....of something(s). And most of those things never even come to pass. Take this quote to heart...

Fight or Flight

The stress (fight/flight) response compromises the immune system.  Some of these stress hormones also feed or support the immune system. So basically, allowing yourself to become overwhelmed with fear and watching the play by play every minute only tears down your body’s ability to stay strong. According to the National Institutes of Health, up to 90% of all illness is related to stress. People's immune systems become more compromised due to all the fear generated by the media attention or thoughts of bad news. Don’t believe me? Don’t you feel good when someone brings you flowers or pays you a compliment? Don’t you feel lousy when someone calls you a derogatory name or hits your car in the parking lot?

 What Can You Do About The Flu?

There is a great likelihood that you either The Fluknow someone that caught the flu or got the flu yourself.  See the news clip that just came out today on the CDC prediction that we may not have seen our peak yet. Please listen to the stats she references of the number of people dying and even children being impacted. The good news is, I have a tip to assist you in this process.

The Flu Season is not over yet according to CDC…

There is debate over whether one should get a flu shot or even if the flu shot causes people to get the flu. Like everyone, I have an opinion on this.  I believe the reason the flu shot becomes detrimental to a body, and someone may actually get the flu even with the shot, is due to stress levels and stress hormones impacting that individual.  When stress levels are not in check, and whose are lately, it WILL have an impact on one’s immune system.  So the body receiving the flu vaccine intended to prepare you to fight the flu, may not have the strength it needs to utilize the good behind the vaccine.

I recommend to my clients that they work with me on getting their stress hormones in balance BEFORE flu season. I know I know, too late for you.  I also recommend that before, during and after any encounters with crowds or anyone sniffling or coughing, that you perform your BodyTalk Access routine.  Not only is there a technique very helpful in supporting the immune system, but there is also a technique very helpful for bringing more body system balance to the body.  And guess what that does?  It reduces stress on the body!  Learn it once, use it for a lifetime.  Your next opportunity to connect with me on this course is Saturday, February 17, 2018 in the Dallas/Ft. Priority Based Health Care

Priority Based Health Care

Does your doctor determine your most important health priority before coming up with an action plan?  Or does he/she take note of your symptoms and treat you like the last person with the same list of symptoms?  Many people that have chronic health conditions or conditions that the doctors are unable to diagnose may feel like they just are supposed to live with their ailment.  That is not necessarily the case when your health care is priority based.

So what is Priority Based Health Care and what does that mean to you?  It is looking at your health on all dimensions regardless of symptoms and then allowing the body to tell us it’s priority for healing.  Pretty cool, huh?  So how does the body do this you might ask?  Well, our body is talking all the time...are you listening?  Aches, pains, congestion, emotional ups and downs, gurgles and twinges are all signs of your body talking.  You just need the right person that can help you translate.

In sessions, if your desired ailment to get worked on does not surface,  it is NOT your body’s priority to be worked on or cleared.  That is priority based health care.  It does not mean that you do not have that ailment addressed in the session, it just means it was not the root of your ailment.  Picture a dandelion in your yard.  You don’t cut the top off, do you?  Of course not, unless you want to see it surface again!  The same is true for your health and wellness.  If you want to see the ailment no longer surface, you have to get to the root.

Through a science called Applied Kinesiology (a.k.a. muscle testing), your body can tell you the frequencies that help bring it into balance.   Your body has the ability to detect when a positive or negative frequency is near it.  The right side of your neck may be hurting and through the session, we will determine that it all started about the same time your 14-year-old teenager decided to make wrong choices and the two of you got in a disagreement and your anger grew. You know, the proverbial pain in the neck!

Applied kinesiology (AK) is a method to determine priority based on the belief that various muscles are linked to particular organs and glands, and that specific muscle weakness can signal distant internal problems such as nerve damage, reduced blood supply, chemical imbalances or other organ or gland problems. Practitioners contend that by correcting this muscle weakness, you can help heal a problem in the associated internal organ.  They key is how you correct that muscle weakness.   

I don’t actually need science to prove this.  Don’t you feel good when someone pays you a compliment and feel bad when someone insults you?  Our words, our emotions, the food we eat, the supplements we take etc. all have either a positive or negative impact (frequency) on our body.  

As a trained practitioner in priority based healthcare, we will use tools like muscle testing to get to the root of your ailment whether it is a painful neck, jittery stomach, high cholesterol or diabetes.  One never knows where the root cause of an ailment may take us but it is nice to know that your body has all the answers you need for healing, you just need to listen!

True or False? Heartburn is due to too much acid in the stomach

FALSE!  There are many misunderstandings about stomach acid and most patients, including some doctors, incorrectly believe heartburn is due to excess stomach acid.  In fact, it is caused by too little stomach acid!  This seems to happen more often as we age. (*1, *2)

The Physiology:  In normal digestion, food enters the stomach and “Gastrin” is produced which signals the cells in the gastric folds called “Parietal Cells” to produce HCL (Hydrochloric Acid) which is then secreted up from these gastric pits.  This, in turn, stimulates the mucous producing cells to release mucus and bicarbonate in order to protect the stomach lining from erosion.

What happens when the HCL is not strong enough?  Poor mucous production and stomach lining is susceptible to erosion and inflammation.  In addition, the Esophageal Sphincter (which keeps the food from returning up the esophagus) does not close tightly enough and can allow stomach contents to splash up the esophagus causing GERD, spasms, even a Hiatal Hernia or other more serious conditions.

True or False? Antacids are completely safe and won’t interfere with my health

FALSE!  Taking antacids can pose serious health risks including increased osteoporosis, dementia, severe B12, Folic Acid, Calcium/Magnesium deficiencies.  Even having low stomach acid alone has been associated with depression, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, stomach cancer, anemia, psoriasis, rosacea and much more  (*3, *4, *5, *6)

In addition, you need strong stomach acid in order to absorb minerals and certain vitamins in addition to breaking down protein. When proteins don’t break down they can putrefy and alter the balance of your flora in the gut.  This can lead to bacterial overgrowth, dysbiosis, yeast infections and more.

True or False? There is no solution and I just have to live with it

Have you shopped for life insurance lately?  I did.  When I met with my financial planner he said, you and your husband got a “best” rating.   I said, “This is the second time you and your team have mentioned our rating, why is that?”  He said, “Well, that is not a usual rating and especially for both in the couple to get that rating.”  I said, “Well, I guess my Wellness Programs are working.”  He said, “ You mean you made a point to pass this test?”  I said, “Yes, we studied.”  He inquired more and then immediately passed out my Purification Program link to his insurance agents.

If you have not shopped for insurance, you may not know that in order to get your rates and coverage, your agent will send out a lab company to collect a urine and blood specimen.   These tests are evaluating your health risk in order to determine if you are insurable and at what rate.  They are generally checking your weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure etc. They are also looking at your health history and your family history.  Now, you can’t change your family history, but you can change your modifiable risks!

These same tests are also used for what is called Metabolic Syndrome.  What is Metabolic Syndrome?  A series of risk factors that can lead to heart disease and diabetes. The risk factors are things such high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high triglycerides, tummy bulge (weight) and low LDL’s (low-density lipo-proteins or bad cholesterol).  Some companies offer this Metabolic Syndrome testing to their employees as an incentive for a premium credit on their health insurance rates.

Got Faith?

Do you remember the last time your faith was tested?  Perhaps now?  Maybe you lost your job and didn’t know how you were going to make ends meet.  Or how about the person that has been diagnosed with a serious health concern?   Perhaps you and your spouse are currently separated and considering divorce?  What about a broken family where members are not in agreement about major life plans or decisions?

Have you considered this verse from the Bible below that talks about how little faith is required to get through challenges like the ones listed above?  

If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.—Matthew 17:20    

But what does it mean?   Mustard seeds are really, really small.  Have you noticed that your faith always seems small in comparison to the problem, otherwise, it would not be a problem now would it?  

Most times we miss that a small amount of faith can lead to a big result.  Think of that Captain “Sully” Sullenberger when he landed that plane with the failing engines on the Hudson River.  He was probably the ONLY one on that plane that had at least a small amount of faith for 155 passengers and crew.  The Faith of the one seemed small in comparison to the problem and the number of other people on that flight.

When you focus on a problem that seems gigantic, remember that your God, or whatever your source, is bigger than that problem. Therefore, we are reminded that only a small amount of faith is required if you believe that your source is as big as the universe.  

What does Faith look like?  Faith is knowing that the doors of opportunity will open for you as you discover them.  Faith is having the patience to wait for the doors and opportunities to surface.  Faith is applying wisdom to make important decisions.  Faith is recognizing the prompting or hunch from your true ultimate guide (T.U.G.) that is guiding you to divine ideas and divine resources to make things happen.

So what do you do when you can’t seem to muster up just a small amount of faith?  What if Faith could be bottled?   Well, actually, it has been.
